Terms of Use
Last updated · 2026-05-23These Terms of Use govern your use of this website (expatlawgroup.com). They do not govern any engagement you may later have with the firm as a client. That relationship is created and governed by a separate, signed engagement letter.
About these terms
By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top of this page shows the most recent revision.
No legal advice
Everything published on this website (including articles, service descriptions, and FAQ entries) is for general information only. It is not legal advice and you should not act on it without speaking to a licensed attorney about your specific situation. Ecuadorian law and practice change. The information you read here may be out of date.
No attorney-client relationship
Sending an intake form, an email, or a WhatsApp message to us does not create an attorney-client relationship. That relationship is established only when both sides sign a written engagement letter setting out the scope of the work, the fee structure, and the parties.
Until an engagement letter is signed, anything you send us is treated as confidential but is not protected by attorney-client privilege in the formal sense.
How you may use the site
You may read, share links to, and quote short passages of this site for personal and non-commercial purposes. You may not scrape it, republish substantial portions, or use it to train machine-learning models without our written permission.
About the intake form
The intake form is the simplest way to reach us. Give us enough context for us to assess whether your matter is one we can help with. Do not send identification documents, passport scans, or other sensitive attachments through the intake form. We will request those securely once we have opened a file.
Submitting the intake form does not guarantee that we will take your matter. We sometimes decline cases for reasons including conflict of interest, capacity, or fit.
